Help: sockets

You may come across some equipment with sockets in them. These sockets will 
accept a variety of items, typically gems and runes. The command to put them
into the equipment is: insert <item> into <equipment>

Looking at equipment will reveal what it has in a socket.

Sockets can be added to equipment via a blacksmith at a repair
shop with rhodium coins.

In order to realize what a gem or rune really does, it is necessary to
identify it by either a scroll of identification, racial means, or guild
ability.
